1) The Honors Retreat: The kids in the honors program here at Roberts got to go to Covenant Acres for a weekend just to get away from school, and get to know each other. I got to meet a ton of new people, play tons of games, and just relax. It was also really nice to be back at Covenant Acres! The highlight of the trip was probably when our 40 passenger bus got stuck in the mud on a trail and we were stuck at camp for an extra three hours. Don’t worry, we were all able to entertain ourselves with performances of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, frisbee, and movies. Eventually, we got home safe and tired, and now I can’t wait for next year! Here are some pictures of the weekend:
One of the many beautiful waterfalls on our hike!
Roasted pepperoni is so much better than S’mores in my opinion. 🙂
This is Mary and Katie. 🙂 They are roommates and they live across the hall from me!
4) Dancing!!! Last of all, I have been dancing almost everyday for the past 3 weeks. During the week, I practice swing dancing with my friend Steve so we can try out with Ballroom Dance Club for the Spring LIVE talent show at Roberts. Saturday night, I go to Ballroom Dance Club where we learn dances like the Waltz, Foxtrot, Salsa, and tons more! I love it so much! On Sundays, I do something called Dance Ministry. It is a bunch of girls on campus who all get together and we are learning a lyrical dance routine to perform in chapel next month. We are dancing to “Car Crash” by Matt Nathanson. Hopefully I’ll be able to get a video up after that, but I don’t have any pictures of Dance Ministry or Ballroom Dance Club. I do, however, have some videos of the tricks that Steve and I have been learning on our own for LIVE.
Well, I gotta go, but I’ll try to keep updating more often!
