This, my friends, is my newest challenge/experiment/personal journey. This is the make-up that I have been putting on since I was in 8th grade. Not literally, but I have been wearing make-up that long. A few days ago I realized that I had gone my first day without wearing make-up at all in about a year. That’s crazy. I don’t need any of it. That is why I am going to go 2 months make-up free. I started yesterday and so far, I’m fine. I want to rid myself of this security blanket that I have been hanging on to for 6 years. Struggling with self-esteem and my looks is not an unfamiliar battle and I want to fight back for once. You may say that its silly and I should be able to go without make-up without an issue, but this is something that I am going to have bad days with. I’m going to want to cover up red spots, make my eyes look more awake, and fix my physical imperfections, but I won’t. This is my foundation-free, lip-gloss-lacking challenge: To shove my make-up under my bed and to forgo my superficial security blanket and find my self-worth in better places than my looks. As Dr. Stewart says, “May the bluebird of happiness poop on your shoes.”

Brave girl! I've never been so brave. Be careful; you're so beautiful you're going to be dangerous without makeup. ❤

Way to go Bek! So proud of the road you are traveling!
