Approximately 44 days…

…til I move in again! Maybe it’s just me, but I’m actually pretty excited for school in the Fall. It could be due to my newly picked major. What?! I have made a decision?! Shocker, I know. This next semester will be pushing me into the direction of Communications with concentrations in Media Studies and Language and Literature. What will I do with this degree you ask? Good question. Ideas like working at a newsstation, journalism, photojournalism have all run through my head, and are all valid ideas to me. For now, I will continue to work my summer job as a waitress at the Country Club.
I just got back from LCC a few days ago, and I miss it terribly already. For those of you who do not know of the wonderous place that is Lighthouse Christian Camp, shame on you. Haha just kidding! But for real, I have been going to this Christian Campground for 19 years, and will continue as long as I possibly can. I’m guessing that it’s around 80 acres of cottages, campsites, and otherwise total bliss. Located on the lake, LCC lets you hang out with friends and family that you don’t normally see, swim/boat in the lake, play sports, or do whatever in the world you want. For me, these weeks in heaven consist of sports, hanging out, jetskiing, and movies really really late at night. Volleyball and soccer were favorites of this year, along with lots of walking and talking (:. I have friends there that I never see outside of camp, so I love going up each year and catching up with them and doing crazy stuff. Going home can be quite an adjustment. It’s just not the same, and I usually need a day or two to realize I have to wait another year to go back for Family Camp.
Here at home I have been powering through the Earth’s Children Series by Jean M. Auel, and I have now finished :). Next is The Waiting Place by Eileen Button, and then C.S. Lewis’ Space Trilogy. If you have any other suggestions, I’m so open to them. I have been dying to read anything lately and I will feed this need until I go blind.
In other news, Franklin is doing alright. He still does this little water dance when I walk in or am about to drop some food in, but I think it’s funny :). I have just purchased Christiana Perri’s album Lovestrong and it is soo good! Not to be confused with Katy Perry, this music is far superior. I’m getting into the mellow, indie type of music. It keeps me calm, and that is a must for me.
At the moment, I have reached the point where I am straying from the computer screen and doing other things that come to my attention, so its safe to say, I’m done. I will do my best to keep up with this blog more, but no promises.

I recommend The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins. They're making a movie of it next year, but you'll zip through the books! Others of my favorites are The Mists of Avalon (Arthurian legend from women's point of view) by Marion Zimmer Bradley and anything by Orson Scott Card. He's written some sweet science fiction as well as some biblical novels, novels about the old testament women and about Moses. Good tasty quality stuff.

    Also, see you tonight!
